Hey everyone (anyone?),

So I've been thinking, maybe I come off as a little distant sometimes and, if so, I'd like to do something about it, which brings me to this post. The idea here is, people just come and ask me questions, I will answer as honestly as I can. If you've ever wanted to know something about me, here's your chance. The only rule is, keep it friendly. If no one has a question they'd like to ask, that's perfectly fine - I don't know if anyone will even see this post! But I just thought I'd try and put myself out there.

Peace and unlimited love to all :)

Ooooh nice! My questions are pretty basic, I've always wondered where you lived and what you did for a living?

And also if you were a Matt or Dom or Chris girl, or all of the above? :D

Yay, I got questions!

I live in Cork, in the south of Ireland.

I'm currently unemployed. I used to work in a factory, then I quit to go back to college. Sadly, by the time I graduated, the economy was already going bad. I worked as a taxi dispatcher last year but the company went under, so that didn't last too long. But I'm trying to stay positive. Hey, gives me lots of time to write!

Hmm, I'd have to say I'm evenly split between Matt and Dom, could never chose just one!

Thanks for the questions, if you want to know anything else, feel free.

Awww sorry about that, I hope you get some work soon. :( (That said, I'd be lying if I said I'm not happy about the fact you have time to write)

I do have more questions! What did you study? What other bands do you listen to? How many times have you seen Muse live?

And questions about your writing: how do you cope, having so many fics started at once? When you write, do you improvise or is every scene carefully planned?

Okay, maybe I should stop there, haha.

Aww, thanks! I hope so too.

I did English and Philosophy for my BA and Medieval and Renaissance English for my MA - which is strange, since I planned to do a History degree, but there you go.

I listen to The Killers, Kasabian, Daft Punk, David Bowie, Eels, Tom Waits, Pixies, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, so many other artists! But one thing I recently got into and I'm recommending them to everyone, is a band called The Walkabouts, especially an album called Nighttown, it's just amazing.

I've seen Muse three times and they blew my mind every single time.

Honestly, I never meant to have so many stories on the go at the same time, somehow, it just happened. It can be hard in the sense that some stories can be neglected for a bit - for example, I know I must post a new update of Bad Blood soon, haven't done a new one of that since December. But it's also nice to have something else to move onto if one story isn't coming together the way I want.

I usually spend a few days thinking about whatever story I plan to update so that, when I do sit down to write, I have the chapter mapped out in my head. Sometimes I'll put in some extra dialogue or another scene but mostly, it's all planned out beforehand.

Hope that answered everything! Thanks again for the questions.

Do you like cuddles?

Date: 2011-02-22 12:50 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hannah-chapter.livejournal.com
Depends on who wants to cuddle. Close friends and family, yes. People I've only just met, probably not. However, that being said, I certainly wouldn't turn down the offer of a cuddle from either of the gentlemen in your icon!

Woo! :)

How did you get into the fandom - what were the first fics you read?

What's your favorite book, TV show and movie?

What color is your hair?

From: [identity profile] hannah-chapter.livejournal.com
Hey there!

I used to spend a lot of time editing TV Tropes and I was on some page - can't remember the exact page now - that mentioned Muse and slash fanfic, so I nosed around and found MS. And, once I was here, I was here to stay.

I think the first story I read and commented on was Strife by findinggatsby, I wish she would write more of it. And, of course, there was The Pleasure Principle and Seventeen Steps by your good self. Oh, and The Ghost Of You Lingers and Tea and Sympathy.

Book: IT by Stephen King

TV show: Futurama

Movie: Streets of Fire, or possibly Airplane!

I have brown hair, also brown eyes.

Thanks for that1

Yay, I'm happy for this post! ^_^

Let's see, some new questions:

Favourite Muse album/song(s)?

What are your hobbies?

Which is your favourite fic from the ones you've written so far and why?

Date: 2011-02-22 08:20 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hannah-chapter.livejournal.com
Yay, more questions

Favourite album, Absolution, song, Time Is Running Out

Hobbies: Reading, writing, watching films - I'm a big cinema buff - and walking. I used to play squash, but then my regular squash partner wrecked her kneee.

Ohh, tough one, I like them all for different reasons, but I'll pick two:

Behind Closed Doors because writing from Tom's POV was so much fun.

A fic I wrote a couple of weeks ago, one called Yes Sir, because it came out of nowhere, was really easy to write, and
now it's going to be a series and, hopefully, will be a good one.

Hope that answered everything, thanks for asking!

Most of the questions I wanted to ask were already answered in the other comments, haha. Anyways...I do have one.

What are your inspirations for fics? I know most of them come from movies but I love that they are rustic and old school. And your writing has a unique style to it! Where does that come from?

Date: 2011-02-22 02:54 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hannah-chapter.livejournal.com
Hey, that's a very good question.

Inspirations can come from anywhere, I'll be reading a book, or even just listening to a song and I might get an idea for a story - I'm actually planning a new one-off based around the lyrics of "Private Dancer" by Tina Turner.
My style? I don't know, I watch a lot of movies, but I read a lot as well, people like Stephen King (my favourite), Jim Thompson, and especially James Ellroy, he has a really urgent, driving style, his books just clip along.
Hope that answered your question, thanks for asking!

Books can be quite influencing. Having said that, it's been ages since I read a book. Nothing seems to interest me these days, haha. My mum brought some Agatha Christie the other day; I might start one of those.

I've seen the movie Christine based on King's novel right? Was creepy, haha!

That did answer my question, thanks!

Date: 2011-02-22 05:50 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hannah-chapter.livejournal.com
Yeah, Christine is one of his. I had a Pennywise icon for a bit, but people thought it was too creepy, so I got rid of it. I guess the thing about reading is, the more you read, the more you learn about how stories go together.

So people have already asked some of my questions, so I think I'll comment on them first. :P

OMG, YOU LIVE IN CORK, I love Irish accents. XD And Philosophy, unf. I'm doing RS for GCSE because we do Ethics and Philosophy at my school, and I'm probably taking it for A Level next year. I love Philosophy and Ethics. :3

Er... well, random question is random, but are you a vegetarian? And do you speak any foreign languages? (German and Spanish, fuck yeah.)

Date: 2011-02-22 06:10 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hannah-chapter.livejournal.com
The thing I love about Philosophy is the way it opens your mind.

No, I'm not a vegetarian. I don't eat a lot of meat, but I will have a burger now and then and I love bacon, black pudding, all the bits of the pig.

I learned French when I was at school but have forgotten it all now, sadly. I'd love to learn Spanish, I've heard that is an easy, fun language to learn.

From: [identity profile] engel-sehnsucht.livejournal.com
I love it too.

I'm veggie. I liked meat, and still do like the taste, but I don't like the idea of eating animals. Thinking about eating it makes me feel sick now. >.< I do love Quorn though.

I used to do French, but dropped it. I love Spanish, but I do prefer German.

Date: 2011-02-22 06:41 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hannah-chapter.livejournal.com
Good on you for sticking to your principles and being vegetarian. I like meat too much to give it up. I could never get my head around German in school, so I dropped it and did french instead.

From: [identity profile] engel-sehnsucht.livejournal.com
I like being veggie. It makes life easier (well, for me, anyway, but when I go to my mate's houses, they have to provide veggie food. XD)

It's weird (actually, maybe I'M weird. :P) but everyone else finds French/Spanish easier than German, but it's the other way around for me.

It's probably healthier. I had to do Old English in my second year of college, it's a lot like German, it was really hard.

Shakespeare is the extent of my Old English skills. :P

From: [identity profile] hannah-chapter.livejournal.com
Oh God, did a thesis on Shakespeare. But Old English is way older than that, seriously, it's a completely different language. Thank fuck it was only for half a semester.

Coursework.

If it's like German, I might have enjoyed it...

I'm sure you'd be brilliant at it.

Aww, thank you! Somehow, I doubt that.

Okay I'm so glad you did this because I had this bizarre reasoning that you lived in the US xD oh wait it's justifiable! I think it's because of the whole Shadows series, I was convinced you had to be American to write that so well! :P basically, my ignorance is a compliment :D

Not sure if this has been asked but favourite Muse song? And which countries in the world have you visited? :3

*hugs*

From: [identity profile] hannah-chapter.livejournal.com
*hugs* That is quite a compliment! I know I don't always get it right, but when I set stories in America, I try to make them as American as I can. Probably helps that almost all of my favourite authors are American.

Favourite song is Time Is Running Out, Blackout is a close second.

I've been to America, I visited New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia and I went to London on a school trip, waay back in the 90s!

Thanks for the questions, if you've got anymore, be happy to answer.
